Despite a 72 per cent drop in sales week over week, no title could take For Honor's seat at the summit of the UK sales charts. Xbox One and PC exclusive Halo Wars 2 gave its best shot, but fell short of its predecessor's already modest first week tally, while Grand Theft Auto V, FIFA 17, and Sniper Elite 4 didn't have the energy to make a push for the top spot.
Battlefield 1, Rocket League, and Resident Evil 7 all padded out the top ten, which lacked any real drama this time. In truth, it feels like the calm before next week's storm, when new property Horizon: Zero Dawn will go head-to-head with established brand The Legend of Zelda and an all-new console. Who's going to come out on top?
UK Sales Charts: Week Ending 25th February, 2017

- Halo Wars 2
- Grand Theft Auto V
- FIFA 17
- Sniper Elite 4

nope i have 57gb left on my HDD because for some reason if i go below 50 the PS4 starts to have startup and shutdown problems, so i can't get any games until sony finally drop that updates that allows external HDD support
come on sony what's taking so long?
@FullbringIchigo Can't you just delete something? Surely you're not playing all of those games.
I have no doubt that Horizon and Zelda will occupy the top 2 spots next week. You would have to think Horizon stands a better chance of beating Zelda with so many more PS4 owners. I know Zelda may well be launching on a New console too but I can't see the Switch selling 35m units in the first week to add to the 20m WiiU owners to match the sales of PS4. Zelda on the Switch is also more expensive making the price over £300 to play on that format. Therefore Horizon has a bigger install base but whether it will match Zelda in sales, an established brand, despite all the positive reviews will remain to be seen. I know which game I will be buying...
I think it will be close but I think Zelda will pip it next week (if sales figure combines Switch and Wii U). I think a lot of people are going to buy both given the hype is so strong with both. I still think Horizon is going to open big. The marketing has been sublime and it has a strong set of reviews and feels a little original being a new IP.
@BAMozzy @Rudy_Manchego I for one am definitely buying both!
They're advertising Horizon like crazy here in the UK. Maybe I've been lucky, but I keep seeing it on TV.
Horizon have 50m+ ps4 audience, while zelda is the only reason anybody buy the switch at launch, it will be interesting to see the result of the charts next month. Both games will do well I reckon.
I already preordered horizon, and will buy switch & zelda sometimes in the fall if there's mario bundle for the switch.
@get2sammyb actually i am plus i only have the stock 500gb HDD and with some games going over 50GB it fills quick and after all the trouble my mate went through after changing his i decided not too
Horizon will have 2 more days on the shelf here in the U.K., but I don't think it will outsell Zelda.
UC4 did 2.7 million worldwide sales in its first week (fastest selling PS title in history). Even though there are more PS4s in the wild now, I struggle to believe HZD will top that.
Whereas with Zelda, you have 2 million guaranteed buys with the Switch & then 13 million Wii U owners.
Zelda wins. Would love to be wrong, but I just don't see it.
@JoeBlogs Of course Zelda is the only 'real' game of note on the Switch and that could be enough to beat Horizon:ZD. I know Sony are also releasing a H:ZD Bundle which may well help.
Zelda though is helped by the fact that the WiiU hasn't had much in the way of releases and the main reason someone is likely to buy a Switch a launch where as PS owners have had a lot of releases recently and Horizon isn't a 'known' or established franchise.
Horizon though has much more potential in terms of sales. 55m (current) PS4 owners and I doubt that the Switch will sell anywhere near the difference between that and the WiiU. I would assume that a good percentage of those WiiU owners will be the ones buying a Switch and therefore unlikely to buy Zelda for the WiiU. Like I said, the difference in cost could also come into play - £330 (Switch and Zelda) vs £40 (Horizon). The Collectors and Limited Edition versions of Horizon are out of stock - the Limited edition is only available at Game but I know the Collectors edition is sold out too at Game, Amazon, ShopTo etc as well...
Could side either way but there's no denying that both Zelda and Horizon deserve to sell well.
Zelda will sell better. It's launching on two systems and one of them is a highly-anticipated new system. Then there's the fact it's a Zelda game. At the end of the day, one game out-selling the other isn't going to harm anybody's enjoyment of either one, I just hope with Horizon being a new IP, one that appears like it cost a lot to make, that Sony can recoup enough money to green light a sequel. It seems like there are big plans if it takes off.
I was tempted to buy For honor but I noticed today they already have buyable ingame currency on the PS store so i've pretty much changed my mind, it's a £20'er now. I'm gunna get the EA family pack instead, PvZ2, NFS, and unravel £20 atm, never played em and I certainly aint gunna be dissapointed at that price Will wait until March's free game's have been anounced first..
@wiiware
Same, I really want to play the new Zelda game though, so I hope I have the willpower to hold out until Super Mario Odyssey releases. I doubt we'll be seeing any Mario bundles in the fall though. Maybe one with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe but not with Mario Odyssey.
Dont buy Zelda, just go for a holiday in Snowden wearing a Plymouth fc top and beany, whilst solving crosswords and Nick a pony. Same thing practically. The farmers Ganadorf and your link.
I think Horizon has a great chance of being number 1 in the UK. 14 million Wii U owners plus just 2 million Switch's available at launch and they haven't exactly sold out, how many of these are actually in the UK and how many still own their Wii U? Granted everyone buying the Switch will get Zelda because what else are you gonna buy? I don't see it doing anything special on Wii U though. There will be significantly more PS4 owners out there and I've seen a big promotion push for this so I think it has a great chance
@Gamer83 I hope I can hold out but there's high probabilty I will buy the switch when splatoon 2 come out, I like the first game (single player) on wii u
The switch price in asia is brutal, about $485 (mandatory pack-in with zelda and 1,2 switch), while ps4 pro price is about $430. There's no way I buy the switch at that price.
It's the device portability/tv out feature that make interested in switch, I want switch to be my portable nintendo playing machine especially if it has vc from nes, snes and others.
Zelda looks okay but the 1 hours preview on ign make me wonder is zelda gameplay consist only walking around and combat, it looks a little boring. The first zelda I played is link awakening dx (gbc), then ocarina (n64) and the last is wind waker hd (wii u), so I doesn't have nostalgia for zelda, I think the people that highly praise new zelda is the one that has played the first zelda on the nes.
I think horizon is ps4 zelda for the new generations
