Out next month on PlayStation 4 and Vita, Toukiden 2 promises to be your typical bigger and better sequel. Environments are growing in size and its predecessor's combat system is being expanded upon, with the upcoming release offering two new weapon types to play around with.
The sword and shield combo does just what you'd expect, allowing slayers to block incoming attacks while staying close to the enemy. The shield isn't just for defence, however, as it can also be used to lash out at your opponent. Meanwhile, the chain whip provides something a little different. It's got good reach and strikes quickly, and it looks as though you'll be able to switch it up with aerial barrages if you get uncomfortable fighting on the ground.
Do either of these armaments tickle your fancy? Let the slaughter begin in the comments section below.

Can never go wrong with good old sword and board.
This looks amazing, I was a huge fan of Toukiden: Kiwami and this looks like a blast. I need more time to play all these games!
So many good games this 1st quarter of 2017. Can't afford all of them but most likely be getting this day-one. Hope this doesn't have the collect all weapons/gear trophy again.
I did not put enough time into Toukiden 1 so I need to go back and play some more, this will be on my I'm too broke right now grab when price drops later this year list, along with about 10 other games...Good gravy 2017 is not messing around with releases.
I'm interested but it's awful timing. Mass Effect and Horizon are day one must buys for me. This is going to have to wait.
@ShogunRok is the PS3 version that was promised still coming?
@Splat Right, too many games in two months but at least they'll be cheaper and already patched this summer!
I wasn't impressed with the demo. Felt like a small-scale, single-player f2p MMO.
It was less graphically impressive than the first game, too.
Looking forward to DQH2, though. Same engine, better everything else.
@Rukiafan7 No, it's only coming to PS4 and Vita as far as I know. Was it definitely promised?
I'm still disappointed that they only added two sword weapons and nothing else. I was really looking forward for other weapons like the ring blades, or a polestaff, or a crossbow, or some over the top weapon like the Charge Blade/Axe in MH4.
I tried a demo for the original Toukiden and didn't like it. If I wanted a Monster Hunter-like game I'll just play Monster Hunter.
@ShogunRok Yeah I read that on Game Informer and Gamespot a few months ago so it was most certainly legit.
