Beginning life on Kickstarter, Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom looks like a relatively unique project, and it's "coming soon" to PlayStation 4. It's an action role-playing release with a pleasant art style, and its combat system apparently takes inspiration from fighting games. Judging by the gameplay trailer that we've embedded above, it's also got a healthy sprinkling of puzzles, so we should be looking at quite a varied approach to adventure.
Shiness seems to be worth keeping an eye on; it obviously doesn't have the kind of budget that some titles do, but it's clearly offering something a little different. Hopefully we'll get a confirmed release date in the near future.

Looks very interesting..
Doesn't look half bad
wow it looks really good.
almost looks like ni no kuni.this game looks good.wow. I love the game play
Ahhh! i'll buy it at a high price
@playstation1995 Does look like nino a lot, also some of the characters look a lot like Biker Mice from Mars.
Could be very fun
I got the chance to play this at Gamescom last year. The fighting system is quite fluid and in some ways reminiscent of the fighting found in the Ubisoft Naruto games on Xbox 360, but with a bit more freedom. Also, the music is lovely and the world seems ridiculously deep.
I think we should be in for a real treat.
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi hahaha.I remember that show.did you remember thundercats .great cartoon
I'm hype for this game.
can't believe this is the 3rd time I watched this trailer wow.shiners will shine lovely on the ps4 pro.word up son
That is one beautiful looking game. Thumbs up here.
I really like this art style. Very pretty.
@playstation1995 thundercats completely passed me by unfortunately
Wow, that came out of nowhere, looks incredible. I'm scared off a bit by the mention of Kickstarter, makes me think it will never live up to that trailer, but if it's half as good as it looks that should be good enough.
Funny timing too. I'm 75 hours into FFXV - putting off the final battle taking pics for Vyv - and I only realized this morning the game has no non-human characters. I'm sure there were probably other fantasy JRPG I've played in the past with all humans, but it seems more often than not there's always some other species, at least one, you come across. This game has a nice variety.
They have my attention, just need to release before NNK2, KH3 and DQ11. Shouldn't be a problem, but I've been waiting for Rainbow Skies since 2014.
ist one of my most wanted games of 2017 for quite some time now! Cant wait
@rjejr Divinity was a Kickstarter (also published by Focus) and it was excellent, theirs no reason this cant be great!
@kyleforrester87 Divinity Original Sin? Had never heard of Divinity so Google led me to Original Sin. Did look good, though I'm not a fan of that camera angle anymore, and all the brown [enjoyed Titan Quest 1 & 2 a decade ago]. Guess I'm just KS skittish, and still PO'd at Playtonic.
@rjejr lol yeah, D:OS is amazing. I love isometric RPGs though!
@kyleforrester87 "isometric"
Yeah, never cared for that viewpoint, was late to the party for Diablo and never played western RPG, just Japanese, more of a Ratchet and Clank, Jak and Daxter kind of guy, over-the-shoulder 3rd person I suppose.
Just rewatched the vid w/ my kid, still looks impressive, reminded him of Legend of Kay graphically.Kind of does, but as a JRPG.

After 80 hours of photo-realistic Coleman commercial FFXV I'm ready for this, looks light and fun.
