Don't jump to any conclusions just yet, but it sounds like Mass Effect: Andromeda's multiplayer offering will reward you with stuff that you can use in the game's single-player campaign. At first glance, this seems absolutely fine; it's cool that the release rewards you no matter how you decide to play. However, fans of BioWare's sci-fi series have been quick to cast a cynical eye over this news.

The info comes from Ian Frazier, the game's lead designer. Answering a question on Twitter, Frazier states, "it's possible to earn [single-player] rewards in the process. (multiplayer doesn't impact single-player's story like in Mass Effect 3, though)". The last part we already knew, but as mentioned, there's a worry that those who play the multiplayer portion of the release will have an advantage during the story, thus kind-of-sort-of forcing you to play the co-op in order to maximise your squad's effectiveness.

We suppose it's a legitimate concern, but we reckon that one tweet isn't quite enough to justify pulling out the pitchforks. In this case, it's probably best to wait and see how it pans out - after all, we don't even know what the 'rewards' actually are. If Andromeda has some sort of loot system, for example, and you can get the same items and equipment from the multiplayer as you can from the single-player, then surely there's no real problem. Again, though, we'll see.

What are your thoughts on this? Are you worried that Andromeda's co-op will bleed into the single-player a little too much? Will you be giving it a go, or do you not care about multiplayer? Hug some cover in the comments section below.
