Hey, did you know that this year marks the 20th anniversary of the SoulCalibur series? Well, if you didn't, you do now, and to celebrate, publisher Bandai Namco has released the above trailer.

Boasting quick clips of every game that's been released up to this point, all the way from SoulEdge through to the impeccable SoulCalibur II and finishing off with free-to-play foray SoulCalibur: Lost Swords, it's fair to say that the video conjures a sense of nostalgia for long time fans. It's crazy to think, though, that the last main title in the franchise, the disappointing SoulCalibur V, released a whole four years ago in 2012.

Naturally, you could argue that a new instalment is overdue, and that's unsurprisingly what a lot of onlookers are shouting about following the release of this trailer. Sadly, there's no concrete hint that a sequel is coming - although there is text at the end of the video that reads "The Legend Will Never Die".

Still, with Bandai Namco putting its weight behind Tekken 7 - which is releasing early next year on PlayStation 4 - we reckon it's going to be a while before the company turns its attention back to SoulCalibur, even if continued rumours suggest that SoulCalibur VI has been in the works for some time now.
