BlizzCon 2016 is underway, and Blizzard has wasted no time in revealing its future plans for Diablo III. To start with, the developer announced an update dubbed 'The Darkening of Tristram'. There aren't any real details on how this will all work just yet, but according to VentureBeat, the update will remake the original Diablo within Diablo III. Sounds crazy, doesn't it? We're certainly looking forward to hearing more.

On top of that, Blizzard will be releasing a brand new class next year. As speculated following a recent artwork leak, the Necromancer is heading to Diablo III, and you can see the undead-raising hero in action in the trailer that we've embedded above.

So, it looks like we're not quite getting a new expansion, but it's nice to see that Blizzard is still so keen to support its four year old title. Are you looking forward to any of this? Raise an undead horde in the comments section below.

Update: The Darkening of Tristram will be a free update for Diablo III: Reaper of Souls. It'll add a 16 floor dungeon that houses the four big bosses of the original Diablo. It'll even add visual filters that make the graphics look all grainy and retro. Not bad!
