The latest Japanese charts are in, and they make for relatively interesting reading thanks to an influx of new releases on Sony platforms. To start things off, Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization did pretty well for itself in first place, shifting a respectable 70,871 copies on PlayStation 4. The role-playing title sold a further 69,648 copies on Vita, with the handheld version entering in second. Publisher Bandai Namco should be reasonably happy with that result.

Kirito and his crew beat out World of Final Fantasy to claim the top spot, too. Square Enix's cute little adventure sold through 53,176 copies on PS4 and 47,159 copies on Vita. Not terrible numbers, but for such an esteemed property, we were perhaps expecting it to do a bit better.

Outside of the top five, Berserk and the Band of the Hawk claimed sixth place on Sony's current-gen console with 28,169 copies sold. Following the hack and slasher up was Titanfall 2 in seventh, while Mafia III settled in ninth.

Elsewhere, on the hardware side of things, the PS4 continues to sit pretty at the top, selling through another 30,375 units. That's an increase on the week prior, but given the amount of new titles hitting store shelves, we're not really surprised that the system's enjoyed a slight sales boost.
