final fantasy xv day one patch.jpg

The last time Final Fantasy XV got delayed, Square Enix claimed that it would be using the extra time to polish the experience to a degree where a day one patch wouldn't be necessary. Indeed, the developer even stated that the delay would allow it to incorporate an "extensive" day one update into the finished product, so that even those without an internet connection wouldn't be missing out.

Now the game's official Twitter account is saying that we'll get day one patch details on Monday. Sigh.

Okay, so going by the wording that the account uses, this doesn't sound like it'll be a game-fixing update or anything like that. Instead, the patch will apparently include "extra features" that the developer has been working on since the title went gold.

We're not really sure what to make of this. Depending on how large the update actually turns out to be, we can definitely see a bit of a backlash brewing - but at the end of the day, we just want to play the bloody game. To say that we're sick of writing about it would be an understatement at this point.
