It's taken months... and months... and months to actually happen, but mod support is finally coming to the PlayStation 4 version of Fallout 4 later this week. Patch 1.8 will launch within the next few days, and will add mod functionality to the post-apocalyptic adventure.

Players have been waiting for what seems like an age for Fallout 4 mods to make it onto Sony's console, but as is the case with the recently released Skyrim - Special Edition, support will be somewhat limited on PS4 when compared to other platforms. This is due to the deal that publisher Bethesda seems to have with the Japanese giant, which states that only mods which use assets from the game can be shared. In other words, you won't be getting any of the crazy stuff that you may have seen floating around the web, like lightsabers and completely unique costumes. A bit of a downer for sure, but we're confident that there'll still be a decent selection of mods for you to download and try over the coming weeks.

Are you happy that mod support is finally on its way? Will it tempt you to go back to Fallout 4, or have you been done with the wasteland for a while now? Modify your thoughts in the comments section below.
