These are the facts that we know about the PlayStation 4 Slim: it exists, a few people have already got their hands on it, and Sony hasn't officially announced it yet. The revamped console is almost certainly going to get its official reveal at tomorrow's PlayStation Meeting, but websites and YouTube channels are already picking the machine apart to try and find out more about it. Patience is a virtue and all that.

Anyway, there's a report going around that the Slim has "serious overheating problems", and said story is starting to pick up some pace. Originating on ThisGenGaming, sources close to the publication claim that the Slim is "hot to touch after 5 minutes of gameplay", and that it gets very loud. What's more, the source also states that they could "smell burning" and were forced to shut off the machine.

Now, before everyone loses their minds, let's remember that, as mentioned above, the Slim has not yet been officially acknowledged by Sony. With leaked consoles already in the wild, it's clear that the system is releasing in the near future, but what if it's designed to work with the latest firmware update installed? What if the batch of Slims that were stolen are faulty? There are just too many unknown factors to put any real stock into this particular report - whether it turns out to be the truth or not.

In any case, you're probably going to see a few more rumours and reports floating around over the next 24 hours, so we'd recommend keeping a cool head and waiting for Sony to dish out the details before jumping to any crazy conclusions.
