The long awaited new PlayStation 4 firmware update – numbered v4.00 and codenamed 'Shingen' – will officially release tomorrow, bringing a bevy of new feature to Sony's best-selling box, including the ability to create folders. In order to celebrate the news, the platform holder's outlined some of the additional features that will be made available as part of the all-important patch, which weren't featured in the recent beta.

Among them is a new Music entry on the Quick Menu, which will enable you to browse Spotify without ever even needing to open the app. That's not all: there'll also be support for the PlayStation 4 Pro incorporated – including 1080p Remote Play and 1080p streaming on YouTube and Twitch – as well as high-dynamic range support across all existing systems. The content info screen has been given a spring clean as well, while a new Data Transfer option will make switching machines much easier – perfect for those of you planning to pick up a PS4 Pro.

We'll have tons more on the firmware update tomorrow, including a full review of the system software overhaul. In the meantime, start planning out those folders.
