Well, we don't really have much to say about this other than we... kind of like it. Maybe. Combining the PlayStation 4 Slim with Persona 5, both of which launch next week on the 15th September in Japan, Sony's crafted a rather crazy advert that we can't quite take our eyes off. It features singing, dancing, gameplay from Atlus' stylish RPG, and money raining from the sky. Oh, and a gigantic console the size of a skyscraper that lets off some sort of super energy shockwave. Neat!
Sometimes we look at Japanese ads and wonder what went wrong here in the West. Or maybe what went right - we're not entirely sure. Still, we're thankful that this breed of madness exists.

So, do 4k tvs have a big install base in Japan? Will the Japanese rush out to buy Slims next week - to make up for this weeks rather low # - or do they hold out for Pro?
I'm still on the fence myself. Maybe if Pro had a Mario runner?
Brilliant xD
Nuts
Wtf did I just see?
The Japanese never cease to blow my mind. But that.... That has to be the weirdest ad I've ever seen. She does have a great voice though
This Ad, wow. Japan knows advertisements.
What the actual **** was that.
@Cron_13 Please watch the language.
Singing those prices in the lyrics is pretty hilarious!
I can't decide if this is weirder than the Tearaway Unfolded Japanese advertisement or not: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=apoFplOeDao
If only ads were like this in the UK I wouldn't mind them breaking up shows.
I don't think I've been left this confused by a Japanese advert since that one selling a Hitachi air conditioner featuring Hulk Hogan singing an odd song about the days of the week... in his boxer shorts. Oh and there was a baby in it.
But yeah, this is just glorious. And Persona 5 looks pretty good too.
@Lolzified is Telaway a sequel to Tearaway ?
@KAPADO well, as they say, it's all new, so I suppose so. Telaway, Telaway, it's up to you.
Persona 5, the Game of the Generation for PS4.
@rjejr
You hyped for Persona 5? Did you even buy Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE? As big a FE fan as I am and as much as I loved that game, P5 is gonna be better. Heck, even Persona 4: Dancing All Night is the greatest rhythm game I've ever played and the best Vita game all year.
Anything with Persona in the name is pure gold. I hope you're ready by Valentines Day.
@JaxonH Nope, I missed the boat on all of that Persona stuff and anyhting related too it. I'm not sure if it's too weird for me or too anime or what but I've never liked anything that looked that Japanese. And street clothes. I like all my JRPG to be fantasy games in fantasy settings. Can you imagine Link in a Japanese high school and Zelda is the principal and Ganandorf is the jock/bully of the school. That's how all of these games look to me. FXV is getting a pass b/c it has a big castle and chocobos.
@rjejr
Dude....
We gotta discuss these preconceived notions and predisposed bias that is absolutely wrecking your gaming life (and you don't even know it).
Open up your mind... like you did at Woodstock in the 60's. I can't imagine Link in a high school but that's because Link's story is set elsewhere. This one is set here, and that's the appeal. It connects to your long-lost and forgotten youthful teenaged self.
I used to have the same kind of bias myself- anythjng turn based, anything Japanese... wasn't interested. Alls it took was one game to start a domino effect of shattering my preconceptions. Let this game tip the first domino for you. I give you Jaxon's Blessing.
@JaxonH You're on a roll today w/ your well thought out posts, just read the one on NX, most impressive. Guess you burned out all your aggravation in that thread the other day.
Can't teach an old dog new tricks though, and you don't know any dogs older than me. All I want is Paper Mario Color Splash, that's it, 1 game at a time.
