Just a quick heads-up if you plan on nabbing the upcoming Complete Edition of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt: save files will not carry over between the two versions.
According to CD Projekt Red community lead Marcin Momot, the original game and the Complete Edition will be treated as separate products, so your PlayStation 4 will essentially act as though the respective save files are from completely different games. A bit of a shame, but that's just the way it is.
Were you planning on using an old save file with the Complete Edition? Let out an audible groan in the comments section below.

That's dumb.
It will probably have a separate trophy list like Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of Mordor GOTY Edition did too.
Groan indeed. Ughhhhhhh.......lame
Finished the game on the PS4. Getting the complete edition for PC. Wanna use them mods this time round.
This reeks of laziness, how hard woud it be to least have an option to import your save file.
Disgraceful. I was planning to get the gwent edition of hearts of stone but this little nugget has put me right off.
I love the game and put loads of hours into it but didnt get any of the DLC because I knew I wanted the full lot version when it came out. Not too happy about having to start again with the new one. Might just pass now and move on. Shame I sorta fancied playing the dlc eventually but so many other games are out that are fighting for my attention I think it would bug me to have to start again even tho I've a lvl 30 game save sitting in another folder on my ps4. bad move cd projekt
so what incentive is there for owners of the original to buy this version
dumb move CD Projekt, Dub move
@TomKongPhooey I bought the game day one and I planned on playing it on NG+. I only just came back to it last month when I bought the DLC but I gave it to my friend as a gift then I bought it on PSN when it was like £20. I found out the hard way that CD Projekt treat the disc and the digital game as two different versions as well.
If you're interested in the DLC in Hearts of Stone they give you a lvl 30 character with no ability points assigned so you can create whatever build you want. You can then take that character into the main game on a NG+ only annoying thing is you lose all your gear and stuff.
Not ideal but better than nothing... I guess :/
Personally this won't affect me. I bought the game on XB1 originally - pre-ordered month's in advance and before I got my PS4. I was considering buying the complete edition for PS4 so I knew my Save point wouldn't be transferable anyway. Its probably cheaper to buy the DLC for the XB1 but I would happily replay it all through again on PS4.
My only reluctance though comes from Storage - something I hoped the 4.0 Firmware update would tackle - especially as I plan to get a Neo in the very near future. I am not looking forward to downloading and reinstalling all my games - especially Destiny with all those updates and DLC. Knowing I will have to delete yet another game or 2 - something I had to do recently just to update a game, I am getting more reluctant to buy games - especially those I already have...
@FullbringIchigo if you're a trophy hunter, the incentive will be that the two games will likely also have separate trophy lists
@FullbringIchigo @N4LIFE To be clear, this doesn't seem to be the fault of the developer. It's just the way that things work.
@TomKongPhooey in the same boat. I'll just wait for the DLC on PSN hits dirt cheap levels.
I remember when the same happened with the download for Shadow of the colossus on ps3. Good thing I do think have the game but this is pretty harsh.
Could not get into Wtcher 3 much preferred the combat of DAI. That aside this seems a strange move not to allow the saves to be compatible.
@ShogunRok I heard Bloodborne does not have the same problem. At it does work with the GOTY edition.
