Who's ready to go west? We're not going to lie to you: we were born ready. And after a torturous wait which seems to have dragged on for almost as long as a black and white Western movie, it looks like Rockstar may be finally ready to announce Red Dead Redemption 2 for the PlayStation 4. Well, almost.
As part of its financial report for the period 30th June, overlord Take-Two teased that the Grand Theft Auto maker has been "hard at work on some exciting future projects that will be revealed soon". Many were expecting a new Red Dead release to be announced at E3 2016 – especially after its map leaked. But it wasn't there.
There were rumours, of course, that the title was pulled from Sony's press conference following harrowing events occurring in the real world, but we're not entirely convinced we buy that story. Either way, it seems like the game's announcement is imminent now. Yeehaw!

I'll definitely be up for a third Red Dead game! Still play the second from time to time as it's still the best Western available.

For real though, it'll prob be some thing to do with GTA V, considering that's all Rockstar care about these days.

There are some rumblings suggesting that it'll be at Gamescom. I hope to God that's true.

According to Sony, their presentation had been locked in for a while and that nothing was pulled at the last minute as a response to that tragic event. It could of course be PR as saying something was changed would inevitably lead to more 'questions' and if RDR was scheduled, a forced reveal from Sony instead of Rockstar. It could be seen as letting the terrorists win by changing our plans, getting to us all etc too.
I like to think that Sony's conference wasn't changed - certainly not how it ended anyway. It may have been reduced in time as thus game was cut but it makes sense for Sony to focus on one of its own to end. I must admit the first reveal was very anonymous and didn't tell me a lot but the Game-play reveal was a perfect way to end there show - starting slowly and ending with a climatic chase and then pulling back to show the precarious position of the 'Hero' surrounded by hundreds of 'Zombies'
RDR would almost certainly be at the top of my wanted list if/when it finally does get revealed.

Dozens of rumors or news about RDR2 have popped up in the last few years.
Every time one comes up, all I can think is: Pfff, another one of those.
Guess what, it's likely not gonna happen this time as well.
Imagine if R* haven't been working on a new Read Dead and it's just been the Internet assuming they have the whole time!
I'd be gutted!
