final fantasy xv season pass ultimate.jpg

There's something a bit dodgy going on here, isn't there? Final Fantasy XV's "Ultimate" Collector's Edition doesn't actually include the title's recently revealed season pass, Square Enix has confirmed. And yes, that's the season pass that we still don't actually know anything about, but you can purchase right now from the PlayStation Store.

So let's get this straight. The Ultimate Collector's Edition, which retails for $270 and initially sold out incredibly quickly, doesn't include the season pass. Meanwhile, the season pass is available through the PlayStation Store if you decide to nab the Premium Digital Edition, which costs $85. Okay then.

Now, it's worth mentioning again that the season pass was only recently announced, while the Ultimate Edition was revealed all the way back at the game's hyped up release date event in March. Does this hint that the season pass wasn't even a thing a few months back? It's possible, and if that's the case, then this whole farce is pretty bloody shady.

We're not sure where we stand on Final Fantasy XV these days. One minute we'll see a trailer that looks spectacular, and the next, we're having to write new stories like this. Can't we just announce games and then release them? That'd be great.
