Shadow of the Colossus is comfortably one of the greatest games ever made, and its influence is clear to see in Prey for the Gods – an upcoming survival action game set in an icy island environment. The title, which is being created by just three people, launched its Kickstarter campaign this week – with a $300,000 goal for the PC version and $600,000 target for the PlayStation 4.
Don't worry, though, this isn't one of those campaigns that consists of an idea and very little else – the title has been in production since 2014 part-time. At the start of the year, director Brian Parnell and team quit their jobs and invested their savings into getting the core gameplay loop completed full-time – and now they need crowd funding to cross the finish line.
The final game will launch with five bosses, so the studio's not biting off more than it can chew – though it is promising DLC battles if it can reach some rather exorbitant Stretch Goals. The core campaign, though, will feature a vast world, a dynamic day/night cycle, and even a loot system. And, of course, there'll be those conflicts against giant creatures.
It sounds pretty decent, but there's a long way to go for the console versions to get funded; at the time of typing the title has amassed just under $150,000, though it does have almost three weeks to make the rest. Funding just $25 will get you a copy of the game on your system of choice, with more expensive variants available.

For a team of just three people this looks pretty amazing! And there is defiantly that SOTC vibe from it.
Can't wait for this one...please don't let it end up like Mighty Number 9..
Oh my goodness.
This looks amazing
Count me in. Support the small developers
It looks really really nice, I'll definitial back it if it nears the ps4 stretch goal.
Would only be interested in a ps4 version, and it is to far away in funding to think that will ever happen. Quite the quandary, because I want to back it but I am worried it will never reach it, so I refrain.
Its incredible. This looks better than the last guardian, sorry. Big shadow of the colossus fan lol
Wow, very well done video. The graphics are beautiful. It's the survival elements of the game that stray me away, never been a fan of the survival genre.
OMG!!!
22 people pledged a 1000 dollars. It totally deserves it from the look of the trailer.
