We're sure that we've covered this in the past, but it's worth reiterating all the same following fresh comments from director Hajime Tabata. According to the Final Fantasy XV boss, who appeared on a recent Square Enix livestream, the game's main story will take you around 40-50 hours to complete, which, for the most part, puts it on equal terms with previous Final Fantasy titles.

However, as we already know, the role-playing release is far more open than its predecessors, meaning that there's going to be plenty of optional content to keep you busy when you're not pursuing the plot. According to Tabata, the "extra stuff" alone will last you a whopping 100 hours, and estimates that in total, you can expect there to be about 200 hours worth of gameplay packed into Noctis' adventure. Sounds like a pretty colossal undertaking, then.

Do these figures mean much to you? Are you bothered about length, or are you just hoping that the finished product turns out to be good? Unleash ten years of hype in the comments section below.
