Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice has changed a lot over the past couple of years, but it's really starting to come together now. After going back to the drawing board, Ninja Theory's now published a new development diary which showcases the title's upgraded combat. And it's looking good, with Senua's agility brought to the forefront rather than her strength.
The studio stresses that it's still got plenty of work to do, but we particularly like the way that there's no heads-up display – all of the information that you need during combat is displayed using either visual tricks or 3D audio. There's still no release date attached to the outing, but the Cambridge-based dev seems to have settled upon the game's systems and art direction now.
The final stage, we assume, is assembling all of those components into a complete campaign.

I would love to see Heavenly Sword 2 along with this game.
I watched this earlier on Playstations own Youtube channel and been watching this game since it was announced. I do like the look of the game, the artwork, the character modelling and even the combat looks interesting. I also approve of the 'no-hud' approach...
Very risky game this. I hope they get the game play right in addition to their core focus of mental illness.
The combat came in for a lot of criticism after previews so I'm glad that they took that onboard. I really hope they succeed because proving that you can make a game with AAA production values without breaking the bank could have a big impact on the industry, it's just Hello Games has the potential to beat them to the punch lol.
My only worry about the blood and vignetting for health feedback is that it likely implies rather rapid healing, because they won't make you play a whole level with desaturated colours and a big vignette. Rapid recovery implies that the game won't punish you for doing badly in the last fight when you get to this fight. Did anyone see anything about their approach to healing/recovery?
i love the look of this game now that they changed the combat, looks pretty badass now, can this be the new TLoU, coz of a very touching subject,
WOW this game just looks better with each video I'm exicted to see what the next update brings. Its hard to know whether to be excited for the actual game though because theres not even an indication of the year its coming out. So I'm going to assume its a long timeframe.
Nice meaty combat there, I do like the look of this.
The man's voice at the beginning was the same as the distinctive npc voice from The Witcher. "Ahem, washed your hair lately?"
Looks great. I love this studio; I think Heavenly Sword and Enslaved were both superb games, and really underappreciated.
