South Park: The Fractured But Whole

Trey Parker and Matt Stone joined Ubisoft onstage at the publisher's E3 2016 press conference to share some new information about South Park: The Fractured But Whole.

The story leads on from the end of the first game, The Stick of Truth, with you once again assuming the role of the new kid in town. This time around, however, Cartman and Co have swapped out fantasy for superheroes. Following a disagreement about the schedule of their respective movies, the South Park kids split into two groups, instigating a civil war.

Parker and Stone threw a lot of jibes at the Marvel cinematic universe and superhero movies in general, and the game's writing and dialogue is on point, as you might expect. In the brief snippets of gameplay shown, we see some excellent scenes, including Cartman describing your character's harrowing backstory.

We also caught a glimpse of the new, grid-based combat system, as well as the various classes of hero you can pick from, such as Speedster or Brutalist.

The segment was wrapped up with a new trailer (which you can watch below) and a release date: 6th December. In a nice final touch, if you pre-purchase The Fractured But Whole, you'll also get The Stick of Truth (also coming to PS4) for free.
