Fresh from selling a dizzying 14 million copies across multiple formats, EA has announced that a new Star Wars Battlefront game will launch on the PlayStation 4 next year. According to boss Blake Jorgensen, the release will feature "bigger and better worlds" – some of which will be based upon areas from "the new movies", though the exec stopped short of namedropping any in particular.
The sequel is all part of the publisher's plan to release one new Star Wars game every year for the foreseeable future. While the company wasn't particularly clear with its dates, it seems that Star Wars Battlefront 2 will launch in late 2017, with Visceral Games' previously announced project following the year after. Titanfall developer Respawn is, of course, working on the franchise, too – but we don't really want to think about 2018!
