Dragon Ball XenoVerse 2 Turns Super Saiyan on PS4 This Year

Get your hair gel ready, because Dragon Ball XenoVerse 2 has just been announced. Yesterday, Bandai Namco unveiled a teaser website for a new Dragon Ball game, which featured numerous nods towards the themes of the first XenoVerse. As such, it seemed pretty likely that the mystery title would be a sequel to 2015's successful brawler.

Funnily enough, we couldn't actually visit the teaser site in time for the reveal. We assume that it was being bombarded by Dragon Ball fans the world over, but fortunately our absence didn't matter too much, as the publisher slapped the sequel's announcement trailer up on YouTube minutes later.

The video reveals three key things: the first is that you'll once again be tasked with protecting the Dragon Ball timeline from corruption. The second is that the game's looking great, with some lovely colourful visuals. The third is that it's releasing this year on PlayStation 4.

Looks great, the graphics and animation seem much improved, I think the other one was let down by the Last gen versions! Loved the first one, can't wait to get my hands on this!

Oh boy, I can't wait. I really enjoyed the first Xenoverse, especially the twist on the DBZ story, and I see they're going to add the movies in the sequel. I'm glad it'll release this year.

I'll glad I didn't see Evolution on that teaser page. I think Xenoverse was really good, but you could tell last gen (ironic since that's where I played) was holding it back...

There's something about that title which rolls off the tongue weird. I can't judge too much from the movie like trailer (it looks good) but it seems like stakes have been upped... But I'm not sure how they can alter the storyline again without it following the footsteps of any other DragonBall game.

I wonder if we will be able to port our DBX characters to DBX2? It be fun to play with my majin again after all the time we spent together working on the platinum.

@vegeta11 that would be nice but i doubt it because of the people who got it on last gen systems wouldn't be able to import them

@FullbringIchigo @vegeta11 There's a bit in the trailer where you see a statue of what I assume is the Time Patrol saviour from the first XenoVerse - only it's the default guy from the trailers. Guess that confirms this is a straight sequel, at least.
