Well, Geralt's gone and done it again. The Game Developers Choice Awards were held last night, and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt managed to scoop yet another top gong. We've honestly lost track of how many accolades this game has.
CD Projekt Red's role-playing release actually won two awards: Game of the Year, and Best Technology. Elsewhere, Rocket League took away the award for Best Design, and Life Is Strange nabbed the Audience Award.
Everyone's favourite beast slayer probably has more trophies than he has monster heads at this point, and that's saying something. Are you still playing Wild Hunt? Sheathe your sword in the comments section below.

This feature was somehow posted in the future. It's 13:09 here and this was posted at 13:15 lol. Good post though
Well deserved.
Having read a good few books, I'm dying to play The Witcher 2 again because I'll appreciate characters and lore so much more. Alas, I gave my 360 to my niece and she broke it.
3.987.458 Game Of The Year awards.
0.000.000 Game Of The Year retail versions.
Game of this gen so far...
Can't wait for Cyberpunk 2077. Who knew the Poles could make such good games.
Well I'm still playing the witcher and cleared all the useless question marks on the map and now I'm ready to start a new game plus before buying the expansions , yup I'm hooked
I'm waiting for the GOTY edition to release so I can play all the dlc finally, hoping it releases along with the Blood and Wine expansion
@Hego
lol, that's going to be about 100 hours to complete the story and an extra 150 hours to clear the map and secondary quests / contracts.
It was definitely my GotY and probably my game of this generation so far. I have no doubt that this is worthy of all the accolades it has so far won and has set a very high standard for all other games this generation too.
I haven't played it for a while - not since I beat the main story with the majority of side quests and '?'s' completed too. I am waiting for the final expansion and will probably return after that.
Bought this game last year still not played it. Want to play Dragon Age Inquisition first and also I am heavily into Elder Scrolls Online.
@sub12 I've already beaten the game and all the side quests before trading it in last year. Basically I want the GOTY edition for the expansions and maybe a second play through (but not a 100% play through)
@dryrain DA inquisition is terrible. Dont put yourself through it.
Witcher 3 is my next big openworld game. Its so big I'm petrified to put it on. Having responsibilities I can't realistically put the time in can I?
The Witcher 3 & Fallout 4 are two of my favourite PS4 games. The strange thing I have noticed about The Witcher 3 is, for some reason its saying that my total playtime stands at around 14 days, which means I have put in around 336hrs. I am only around half way through the campaign, but I have done a million other things like, monster hunting, side quests, crafting and site seeing. Still, even with all that I don't understand why the game thinks I have been playing for 336hrs. I put 170hrs into Fallout 3 and got every achievement and I put over 250hrs into Skyrim, but I totally believe those counters.
Has anyone else experienced this or is it just me? haha
@themcnoisy Bit harsh. It's by no means a perfect game but it's rather fun to play through. It's also got some fantastic lore. However it really does suffer by being a dual gen game release.
@WARDIE yep, when I first got it I'd played it for a few days and it was saying I'd been playing for 8 days!
@ApostateMage Ok so its not just me then. It's a strange one that.
@stevie85 Dual gen? Do you mean PC, PS4 & XB1? Not sure what you mean by that.
@dryrain @themcnoisy Dragon Age Inquisition is not terrible at all. I couldn't get into the previous Dragon Age games, but Inquisition was a top game. Not sure why you would call it a terrible game and advise someone not to put themselves through it. Fair enough if you didn't like it, but it was very well received and actually got really good reviews pretty much across the board.
@WARDIE Sorry I wasn't clear. I meant PS3, PS4, 360 and Xbox 1.
@stevie85 Yeah I thought his comment was a bit harsh also. I really enjoyed Dragon Age Inquisition, which surprised me as I wasn't into the previous 2 games. Even though it was also on previous gen I thought it looked great to be fair.
@WARDIE I'm a big fan of origins and I enjoyed Inquisition. It deserves a play through I think. Yeah looks wise it was nice. I just felt maybe some of the later stages or areas were a bit sparse compared to the earlier stages.
@stevie85 @WARDIE That's fair enough, I just didn't like anything about it. The controls, fighting, areas, story and even the characters. After smashing Mass Effect, KOTOR and Baldurs gate I couldn't wait (all made by bioware) but on playing it - it was a by the numbers dull fest. Really un bioware like in its structure. But its a fair comment that you liked it as even though I disliked it, DAI was serviceable and jammed full of stuff to do.
@themcnoisy Did you enjoy any of the previous games by any chance?.
@stevie85 DA 1 and 2? Never played them last gen.
@themcnoisy I absolutely loved Baldurs Gate! Played it through multiple times. It's one of the reasons I got into Diablo 3. There was just something about Diablo that gave me this fix I craved in the absence of Baldurs Gate.
@stevie85 I actually still own Dragon Age Origins on PS3, but I haven't got very far into it to be honest. If I didn't have a backlog I might be inclined to give it another try after enjoying Dragon Age Inquisition.
@themcnoisy If you get a chance, Origins is very good.
@WARDIE I know the feeling. I've been buying games but I'm barely getting a chance to play with all my college stuff at the moment. It's going to get worse as Dark Souls 3 is out soon.
@themcnoisy
Stick to the main story and do some secondary quests / contracts here and there (you can still complete 80% of them after finishing the main story), turn off the (?) marks on the map, you'll be able to beat most of the game in 40 hours.
@sub12 You have told me that before! thanks for the advice, though, even tonight I meant to put it on and ended up on One Piece Pirate Warriors 3. Ive got a mental barrier I need to climb over, this happened to me last gen with first person action RPG games and Driving games. Never imagined My favourite genre of old (RPG/JRPG) would have the same issue.
It deserves it. Definitely my favorite game of 2015. Once I started rolling with the main quests after finishing all the secondary quests and contracts, I fell in love with the game even more.
When will it end?
