The console wars may be awash with warriors angrily biting their thumbs, but the word star-cross'd springs to mind when observing the latest social media fad. This tragic tale of two adoring PlayStation and Xbox representatives actually did the Twitter rounds a couple of years ago, but it's made a comeback overnight – even prompting a mock-up image from the Xbox social team.
If memory serves correctly, this was snapped at Gamescom right before the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One launched, and is pretty adorable.
Of course, the tale of Romeo & Juliet teaches us that many Montagues and Capulets must fall in the face of true love – and even then, our tragic lovers must taste the sweet kiss of death. Spoilers!

@KratosMD
This is Microsoft, our foe,
A villain that is hither come in spite.
Keep your friends close but your enemies closer.
If fanboys focused on the similarities instead of the differences, they would be able to see how compatible they could really be.
What the hell is the guy in the hoody towards the back doing?
On topic - PS4 rulz and XBots suck. Whats the lad thinking, the girl is clearly thick wearing that abomination.
Nah I couldn't do it, have to draw the line somewhere.
@themcnoisy He'll be playing a Kinect game, what other platform makes you look like a right idiot while playing
@themcnoisy
You don't look at the mantel when you Stoke the fire. As the saying goes, if you get what I mean.
I too must be their 'child' assuming that time travel exists as I am old enough to be their father! Point is though, I have always owned (or had access to) at least 2 formats for playing games. For example I owned a PC so bought my son a Playstation and then bought an N64. I didn't see the point in buying myself a Playstation too. My son bought a PS2, so I bought an Xbox, I bought an Xbox360 and bought the PS3 when my son left home and bough the Wii for the family (my young son and daughters).
Although technically I may not have always owned every format, as a household we have.
Now I am living alone, I have both a PS4 and XB1, both a PS3 and XB360. I know there are a lot of similarities and access to a lot of the same games but as we know, the 3rd Party Deals can benefit one console more than others. In the case of PS though, its often extra content (like extra missions) and even been 'free games' in the past (like getting Assassins Creed or Battlefield 1942) not just a 'delay' in accessing DLC or content.
There is no way I could pick just 1 console as being the best for me. Each has exclusive games I want, each has 3rd party deals that I take advantage of and each has features that I find beneficial even though there are also a LOT of similarities. I couldn't (for example) give up access to games like Uncharted, Infamous, Killzone and be happy with just Gears of War, Forza, Halo (or vice versa). I wouldn't be happy about not having access to DLC map packs/content earlier on one game but have to wait a month (CoD) (or even a year - Destiny) in other games (or even to play the game - Rise of the Tomb Raider!)
As far as I am concerned, the console is just the device I need to play all the games I want, in the way I want and not miss out or wait for the opportunity that others may have. Both have their strengths and weaknesses and it shows that both manufacturers also copy each other - Just look how similar Gold and PS+ are these days!
She probably wants to defect to Sony and was seeing what they could offer. Worried that she will get laid off due to poor sales.
I would only ever own one console per generation but would also buy a gaming PC.
I'm gonna be the one to point out that they guys twitter avi is awesome. Frank Reynolds is one of the greatest characters in history.
I'm pretty sure there's only one thing on that young man's mind and it's not work
more like Sontagues and Microlets...?
Ehh, maybe not.
@Neolit I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully
I can attest that this is 100% true (and cute).
girl is hot as hell... for a girl like that I'm willing to overlook if she's into first person shooters and all that other xbox stuff
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi Yeah! Microsoft, which is owned by a guy so evil, that he donates millions upon millions of dollars to charities and foundations that help people. Sure sounds like a villain to me....*sarcastic voice
Love transcend consoles ~
Or.. they could just be friends, having a chat.
It is a good photo though.
@LordRedwood24 much apologies for the amended Romeo and Juliet quote, I'm a bad person.
I could work with Nintendo, but il you're very investe d in the xbox brand I see no future. A woman has got to state her limits.
My eyes just come and go from the girl's leggins to the hoddie-guy's invisible motorcycle ...
@Feena
This is a like a New York sports fan dating a Boston sports fan. Doomed, no matter how hard you try.
@Gamer83 agreed
