Rage quitting has been an issue in Street Fighter V ever since players realised that they could drop out of matches without being penalised. While it's pretty crazy that the game launched with no punishments for such conduct in place, it looks like Capcom's preparing to tackle the problem head on.

"Yes, we are well aware of the problem of players disconnecting before the match ends to retain their League Points and their win streaks. Thanks to all of the players who have brought this to our attention," the official blog states. "We are working on a permanent solution to this problem, though we don't have an exact date to share with you at the moment. That said, we are going to take direct action starting next week to punish those players who are abusing the system," the post continues.

According to the publisher, "punishment will be severe for the worst offenders", and it encourages players to record any instances of rage quitting that they come across. Hopefully this incentive will make people think twice about pulling the plug when they're losing a fight - at least until Capcom's got a proper system in place.
