Brrrrr

Winter has arrived. No, really – the greenery of the UK has turned an icy shade of white, and we've reverted to performing star jumps in the Push Square office just to stay warm. It's been a bit of a quiet week here in the PlayStation Nation, but a deluge of new releases are about to deploy, so we may as well make the most of the down time.

I'll need to draw blood while chanting Geralt of Rivia's name in order to prove that I genuinely have come around on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, but first I'm going to be exploring Skellige for about, oh, a billion hours.

Seeing Sammy's recent enthusiasm for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has inspired me to get cracking on my New Game Plus run – and I'm already having a blast. Needless to say, I'll be slicing and slashing my way through as much of it as I possibly can before February's reviews start pouring in. I may also try to finish Tales from the Borderlands this weekend, but that's a tall order when True Game of the Year 2015 is sitting in my PS4's disc drive. [Didn't know you'd started Bloodborne, Ramsey? – Ed]

This weekend, the Yakuza 5 train will keep on rolling. I think I'm going to have to stop trying to do everything in this brilliant game if I ever want to play anything else in 2016. That said, if I do manage to drag myself away from punching fools in the face, I'll probably take some time to check out either Rebel Galaxy or Oxenfree.

After consecutive weekends of actually successfully finishing the games that I set out to beat – Rise of the Tomb Raider and the first Witcher 3 expansion – I've decided to not give myself any particular games to play. What that means is that I'll probably fall back on a mix of Rock Band 4 and NHL 16, which is pretty much what I'm always playing when I don't have anything particular in mind to tackle.

I've been returning for a fleeting visit to Seattle in inFAMOUS: First Light – the land of Sub Pop – but considering that it's almost two years since inFAMOUS: Second Son released, I've become so accustomed to speeding around with Fetch's Neon that I've lost any skill at using Delsin's Video power in the survival battle arenas.

Ah, I finished Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake! Massively better than its predecessor in every way. That gives me full freedom to delve into Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain this weekend and for the next few weeks. That Dragon, Cancer is also on my list, which I'll be setting aside to play for a few serious, sombre hours, and lastly, I'll be continuing my spelunking in Siberia with Rise of the Tomb Raider.

I'll be finishing off the last scraps of Tearaway Unfolded this weekend, before moving on to Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, and hopefully a bit of Grim Fandango Remastered, if I can squeeze it in. I'll also be playing FIFA 16, to celebrate Liverpool's draw against Arsenal – see, playing it safe. [Dammit, Sam – I was hoping you were going to guarantee a United win – Ed]

Last weekend I focussed on doing some work on the house in Rainbow Six Siege. This weekend, however, I am going to be working on the garden in the Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 beta.

Not too much gaming for me this weekend I am afraid due to work. If I do get any time it will be Call of Duty: Black Ops III local multiplayer with my son. I never thought that I'd get hooked on a CoD game like this!
