Phwoar, there's nothing like a vague tweet to get you hyped for an upcoming release. This time around, veteran Call of Duty developer Infinity Ward is hitting the hype train, writing that 2016 "is going to be incredible".

For those out of the loop, this year should mark Infinity Ward's turn with Activision's mega franchise. The series is now on a three-year development cycle, with Sledgehammer Games, Treyarch Studios, and Infinity Ward all trying to define the shooter's future.

Of course, many fans will tell you that Infinity Ward has already accomplished that in the past with the likes of the phenomenally successful Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, so it'll no doubt be interesting to see what the studio attempts to achieve with 2016's entry. The developer's last title was the underwhelming Call of Duty: Ghosts, so let's hope that it gets back on track with whatever it's been working on over the last couple of years.
