Square Enix's cutesy role-playing spin-off World of Final Fantasy has fashioned an all-new trailer out of the ongoing Jump Festa 2015, showing off more familiar faces in chibi form. In the clip, we get a glimpse of Faris Scherwiz, Yuna, and Sherlotta. And yes, we totally stole that information from elsewhere. Duh!
This honestly looks like a LEGO game fused with Final Fantasy, and will clearly be skewing towards a younger audience. That makes all of the fanservice a little odd as far as we're concerned, but maybe the publisher's hoping to appeal to both existing fans and newcomers with this twee little PlayStation 4 and Vita title.

It looks more fun from FF XIII, I'll keep an eye on it!
i'm getting this on Vita
for some reason it looks like a much better fit for the Vita than the PS4
Looks more like Final Fantasy mixed with Pokemon, but ok
I'll be getting this for my Vita too, I can't wait to play it, love basically anything Final Fantasy.
Yeah im look foreard to playing this on Vita. Like Bastion I it feels more at home on Vita to me.
@3Above @FullbringIchigo I have to agree but i think i will have a double dip with this one i rather play on a big screen. But if we get this on the PSVita maybe they will start to take some better care of PSVita in teh future im looking at you 3rd party developers.
Falling in line with all of the above, I'll pick this up on the Vita
Having watched the trailer, this really does feel like mix between Final Fantasy and Pokemon, which sounds really cool to me at least, would be neat if the vita had a pokemon-esque game and FF seems like a really good franchise to choose to do this with
Am I really the only one that wants this on PS4??
I think I'll need to be on something to play this. Too colorful and happy go lucky feeling.
@B3ND3R no your not i wanted it on PS4 too but by how it looks and from the game play videos i just feel it will fit the Vita better and that it would be a better experience
@FullbringIchigo I can see where you're all coming from, I was just thinking that if I got it on PS4 I could just stream it to my vita when I'm in another room.
I haven't played much Final Fantasy at all since VII came out. I did not like VII at all.
This looks like the classic high-magic fantasy than the kinds of games they've made since VII. I have a huge backlog on all my devices, but wouldn't feel unhappy at all if I wound up with this on the Vita.
@B3ND3R - I don't own a PS4 yet. I also love to play JRPGs on portable systems, where they can be played in more convenient times and places. The Vita is pure gold for that.
They looks so adorable as chibis!!! Definitely day 1 buy for me. And if my sister has a PS4 by then, I'm buying one for her too.
@B3ND3R You're not alone, I'll also be playing this game on the PS4, but not until Black Friday 2016 due to reasons.
I still can't make a head or tails of this one. Other than that the two main characters' faces are kinda creepy.
the two main characters design is off-putting, but all the rest is so cute! _
I'll be keeping an eye on this and if there is some challenge for older gamers will definitely give it a go on my PS4
I'm not that interested. Does anyone else hate how they mix chibis and the normal character models together? Everyone should just be the same style as the two main characters. The chibis look terrible and out of place next to them.
Looks adorable but I will wait for the reviews and a price drop before getting on the ps4.
@Jaz007 Yes.
@Jaz007
I don't know. maybe I'm reading too much into the trailer, but the impression I got was that the two siblings are from their own world, but they end up getting transported into a different world where everyone is a chibi. A World of Final Fantasy!! They can change forms because they don't belong, that's why at 0:36 the inn keeper gets surprised. Also, notice how Squeenix hasn't shown anyone else being able to change from their chibi forms? Again, reinforcing my theory that the two siblings are different and not from the World of Final Fantasy. Well, with the exception of the lady at 0:40, but she says she's a god, so I'm giving her a pass (maybe she's the one that transports them).
and what's wrong with their design? It's practically the same design used in Kingdom Hearts for Sora, Riku and Kairi.
@Jaz007
The chibi design is so off-putting. And I usually don't mind chibi characters. These just look so generic they all look identical. Way too extreme IMO.
I'm sure the game will be fun and I'll adjust after a little play time, but still. They should have just made everyone with the design of the main characters.
I really like the look of this one, hopefully it's fun to play and doesn't take itself too seriously.
PS4 version for me.
Considering I can never complete a final fantasy game, and X was the only one that I really enjoyed, this one should help me get the love of the series and be a little easier for me to understand (without having to use a players guide). Hopefully, it will be one that my kids can get into and enjoy too!
Initially I was interested but I just know over time the character design and some of the other stuff would grate on my nerves. I could get past that if I had confidence in it being a good game, but it's SquareEnix. Only games worth a damn that come with the SE label these days are developed by its Western partners. For those who are looking forward to the game though I hope SE finally delivers something for the first time in nearly a decade that is worthy of the legacy of both companies before the merge happened.
