We love a good four-player, action co-op game every so often to sit down and play with friends on the couch. Diablo III and Gauntlet: Slayer Edition are only two of several titles that we've conquered, and this particular author is instantly adding Stormcloud Games' Brutal to the games-to-be-conquered list with our co-op partners.
With the visuals primarily constructed out of ASCII symbols, Brutal is very visually arresting. As for the roguelike gameplay, you'll be traversing procedurally generated levels as a Ranger, Mage, Warrior, or Amazon to get to the 26th floor so you can claim the crown of this domain's ruler. With hordes of foes to defeat along the way and what looks like awesome, unique abilities to exploit for each hero, this is one indie title that we sure have our eyes on.
Do a lot of these four-player action titles feel the same to you? Are you looking forward to hearing more about Brutal? 1337 $P34K in the comments section below to let us know what you think about this particular title's graphics and gameplay.

I dig this artstyle but I doubt it'll be easy on the eyes while playing on your 60" tv.
I'm intrigued by how this will play, if its a Diablo type rpg then that's fine - but ascii usage is synonymous with the roguelike genre which has its beating heart of code in random number generators.
Either way the trailers good.
This has "fob them off with this on plus" written all over it.
Very tron-esque, no interest hear as I think it'll get old fast.
@Johnnycide where's your reverence for gaming history? A modern telling of Adventure - bring it!
