The Last Guardian has gone dark again. The game was re-revealed to a rapturous response at E3 2015, but it was absent at both the Tokyo Game Show and Paris Games Week. This, according to Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida, is nothing to worry about – the platform holder's just limiting the title's showings because it doesn't want to spoil things.
"Development is going well, but because it's about the story, we don't want to show too much," the affable executive told GameSpot. "We wanted to show that it exists, it works, it runs. It's not like we won't show anything before launch, but I think that we will try to limit what we show about the game." While disappointing, we suppose that this makes sense.
The other reason, we'd imagine, is that this game has been in development for at least eight years now, and any new footage is going to receive copious release date queries. Having said all of that, we strongly suspect that there'll be a new trailer at PlayStation Experience a little later in the year – this is a game for fans of the brand after all.

The wait has become torturous again. But it's okay, 'cos GotY 2016... (Assuming it actually comes out!)
I think we'll get the release date at PSX, it's the perfect time to announce it. Just depends on whether there confidant of hitting that date.

Time skip
Finally released today June 30 3016.
I wish more developers would do the same. Thats one of the things I love about Bethesda, they don't show their games (Elder Scrolls and Fallout) until they've nearly finished development. That way they can work on their games without the worry of deadlines and we don't worry about delays. I hate it when developers show their games years in advance. Just show us when you have your games running/working on PS4 and it only has 6 months of development time left.
They are not showing anything cause it far from being done. I don't care for the game but I feel for those expecting it next yr. I will be a miracle if it comes out 12/31/16. Shu talking about its story heavy why they aren't going to show much of the game seems hog wash. How many games we've seen 1 hr of footage and don't know anything about the story?

in addition, I guess its a puzzle game like Ico and Shadows of the Colossus, showing puzzle games without showing the solution is hard
I almost don't want to see anymore footage. Just tell me when I can buy it and I'll enjoy playing it blind.
I'm fine with not seeing any more of it. It's a day 1 purchase anyway. I do the same with Zelda games, any info would spoil them...
Agree with the last sentence, they've been saving it for PSX as its the PS game that's unlike any other.
Now if they don't show it next month, then there's a problem.

If this is true then its an extremely welcome change and something other devs/publishers should be doing...ive lost count, especially over the last few years, of games that i feel ive played before they are even released...yes im aware that no one is forcing me to watch videos and read articles but should vids like "watch the first hour of assassins creed" be released anyway?...i think it does more harm than good
