Star Wars Battlefront may not be the best sci-fi spin-off in town this week. Sony has confirmed on the PlayStation Blog that SNES classic Super Star Wars will be releasing on the PlayStation 4 and Vita on 17th November – in North America at least. There's no word on how much it'll cost, but you'll be able to get it for free alongside three other retro Star Wars titles in the limited edition Darth Vader bundle. It's unclear when the other games will be available on the PlayStation Store.
While the rollout is a bit weird, it's important to note that work is being put into the ports, as they'll all boast Trophy support, controller options, and enhanced presentation. In the case of Super Star Wars, the original 1993 release is one of the most revered in the SNES catalogue, and we've actually had our own Jedi Jamie O'Neill playing the original this week so he can bring you a review and explain how the PS4 port compares to the original. Expect that to go live in the near future.

I love @JamieO reviews and can't wait to read his for these games. I might pick these up depending on their prices. If only they would bring the Indiana Jones SNES game now.
The Rogue Squadron games would be cool as well.
Never played them, I'll look for you guys to write a first impressions like article and I'll see from there. I've always loved Star wars games....But I won't be getting Battlefront 3. Don't enjoy always online games.
Loved this on the Snes so will definitely pick it up, any chance we get the other 2 as well? Might pick up one of the other ports too if they review well
Loved this game back in the day. Was quite hard though from what I remember!
It's a great game, but bloody Christ is it hard. It'd be great to see the others in the trilogy make it over. And if I were dreaming, I'd ask them to secure the Rogue Squadron series and bring that over too!
Any idea in when this is due to drop in the UK, if at all? I was expecting it today and I'm gutted that it's missing

I am also disappointed that Super Star Wars has not been released on the European PlayStation Store, yet. I am based in the UK, and I have been checking for it regularly on our PSN today without any success.
My understanding is that PS4 Star Wars Battlefront is released in Europe on Thursday 19th November, so I have a bit of a new hope that Super Star Wars has only been held back in the UK to coincide with DICE's game being released.
I will check for Super Star Wars on PSN again up until Friday, and in the meantime I will just keep playing my SNES cartridge. Keep your fingers crossed this week European Star Wars PS4 and PS Vita retro fans, plus I hope everyone in North America is enjoying it.
