Oh, well this is quite a nice little surprise for anyone that hasn't sampled Tales from the Borderlands yet. The story's first episode is now free to download, play, and complete on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3, developer Telltale has announced. Alongside this pleasant news, it's also revealed a release date for the fifth and final episode in the series - it'll launch on the 20th October on both of the aforementioned consoles.
We weren't all that enthralled with the idea of a narrative driven experience based upon what is essentially a shoot-and-loot extravaganza, but since reviewer Graham Banas has been awarding each episode some rather enticing review scores, we'd better stop questioning it. Even editor Sammy Barker thinks that the series is good, so it must be doing something right.

Nice I've waited to play 4 till 5 came out and I can play the last two episodes together. Freebie platinum here I come!
Game of Thrones will surely have a release date soon enough.
Thought this was a beyond stupid idea, but it has turned out to be my favorite telltale game. I'm glad to FINALLY see the conclusion - has it really been a year already?
Oh well, I only spent $5..
Still shows as £3.99 for me on the PS4 store and on the internet store.
This series is fantastic, but the first episode is just tedious, nobody will be coerced by this
£3.99 is pretty cheap...but its not free
Same day as Life Is Strange. Why do this. Now I have to decide which to play first.
@benrawr really? The first episode was awesome. Go play it everyone.
Well it's hard for me to pass on a Telltale game especially when it's free.
@Tasuki - It's really enjoyable. I'm a Borderlands and TT fan but wasn't sure how the two would mix. It turns out they mix very well...
Probably should have waited to try this first, but instead I just bought the complete series. Heard so many good things about it, and it was only £7.99 in the sale so I couldn't resist!
@Frazzle In Belgium too.
It's not free in Ireland
The PS3 one has a timed trial so I'll give that a whirl.
Free on android too
