The grass is always greener

Even though this author isn't necessarily the biggest fan of Japanese role-playing games, it's really nice to see the genre infiltrating this week's UK sales charts. FIFA 16 was top yet again with Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection finishing second – but Tales of Zestiria landed a surprise strike on eighth, while Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below [Urgh – Ed] finished up in 18th place.

There was more good news for fans of niche games as Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance also charted, securing 28th position all to itself. And alarmingly decent rally racer WRC 5 skidded into 12th place. An all-around pleasant week for fans of variety, then – even if the top ten was dominated by Destiny: The Taken King, Grand Theft Auto V, and all of the usual suspects.

Will Assassin's Creed Syndicate be able to dethrone FIFA 16 next week? We're not convinced.
