Kill us now

Until Dawn is one of the best games of the year because of its intentionally crumby plot and ham acting – so we're not sure how we feel about the game getting a PlayStation VR powered side story. Apparently that's exactly what Supermassive Games is working on, though, as a Destructoid tip-off has hinted that a first-person expansion, tentatively titled Rush of Blood, is in the works.

According to the site's unnamed source, this will see you riding a minecart through the release's desolate setting, blasting all kinds of enemies that get in your way. It sounds awful and we were ready to mark it down as a hoax, but speaking about PlayStation VR in an interview with PlayStation Lifestyle recently, executive producer Pete Samuels may have already spilled the beans.

"PlayStation VR cropped up in conversation a few times during development, but, no, we don't expect that there'll be an edition of the Until Dawn story playable in VR any time soon," he told the website. "Not unless somebody has a sudden rush of blood!" That comment's surely not a coincidence, right? Absolutely gross.

We know that Supermassive Games is one of the studios working on PlayStation VR, so it's possible that this is just some kind of tech demo. Personally, we think that it would be a mistake attaching the Until Dawn name to something like this, as the brand clearly has potential moving forwards – it just needs to be handled in the right way. This is not the right way.
