Minecraft must be doing something right, seeing as it's one of the most popular video games every released, but that's not necessarily why we're liking the look of incoming copycat Dragon Quest Builders. Judging from its latest PlayStation 4 screenshots, we reckon that it all looks rather charming, and the way that the game incorporates memorable monsters from the franchise is really neat.
If Builders can blend some traditional role playing game mechanics with the joys that come with Minecraft's sense of freedom, then we could have something special on our hands. The title hasn't been confirmed for a Western release yet, but Square Enix would be pretty crazy not to build it a bridge overseas, right?

i would love it if this got a english release, still if DQ Heroes sell well you never know what may happen
I hope this gets an English release. I'm definitely interested in it.
Given the popularity of Minecraft you'd think this would be an obvious candidate for localisation, but you never know with Square Enix.
The look of this definitely appeals to me more than minecraft, and I'm not even a Dragon Quest fan. It almost has that slight Zelda feel to it.
I'd pick this one up. I like Minecraft, but this one looks like it has more charm. Certainly looks better graphically.
Wow, I'm not going to pay for blatant copycrap like this.
Looks awesome. I hope it gets localised.
@ztpayne7
A slight Zelda "look" you mean, surely?
I wonder if they're making this game to show Minecraft players out there how crap Minecraft actually is lol..
Even if it doesn't come out in English I'll still buy it. 100% more appealing than the garbage blocky style in Minecraft. I know Minecraft did it first, I know their fanbase is a billion times bigger but it just doesn't appeal to me. Yeah yeah yeaaaaah, I know you're not supposed to judge a game upon the graphics but this is about STYLE. And who the heck doesn't like Akira Toriyama's works?
As weird as it sounds I'll get this despite not being a fan of Minecraft.
