Bird brain

With office weeaboo Robert Ramsey still sulking over the state of Final Fantasy XV, the responsibility falls upon this author's broad shoulders yet again to bring you the latest on Square Enix's long overdue role-playing release. Fortunately, this update's a fun one, as yesterday's Active Time Report brought news that Chocobos and fishing will both feature in the foray.

You'll be able to hire the franchise's oversized chicks for an alternate method of traversal, but there'll be no cyber pet-esque micromanagement we're afraid. If it's minigames that you seek then you'll be able to head to your nearest lake to try your hand at a spot of angling, as a SEGA Bass Fishing-inspired side experience will allow you to catch your own food to cook back at camp.

You can watch both of these activities in the gameplay trailer embedded below. To be honest, we reckon that these distractions look enjoyable, but it's evident that Square Enix is really stretching out the PR campaign for this game if it's releasing five minute videos dedicated to them. Still, when you've been waiting a decade for a title, we suppose that anything will do.
