Following a legal battle between Bungie and fired soundtrack composer Marty O'Donnell, newly uncovered documents state that Destiny's story was "substantially revised" a whole year before the game actually launched. The shooter was originally intended to release in September 2013, but in the month prior, the developer decided to rework the title's narrative almost completely.

Those of you who have been keeping up with Destiny's promotional media will probably know that earlier trailers feature clips from several different cutscenes that didn't make it into the final product, and when coupled with these new documents, it would suggest that rumours regarding the sci-fi adventure's gutted plot carry some weight.

Either way, it's clear that the game went through some pretty drastic changes - changes that Bungie may still be trying to straighten out with the launch of The Taken King, and the upcoming 2.0 patch.

What do you make of all this? Do you think that Destiny's story was more substantial at one point, or do you reckon that's just wishful thinking? Jot down your thoughts on some Grimoire cards and place them in the comments section below.
