Uncharted 4: A Thief's End will be following in The Last of Us' footsteps and getting a story-based expansion pack. This will mark the first time that the series has had its campaign extended with post-release content, and speaking at the GameStop Expo earlier this week – yes, there are conventions pretty much all year round these days – community strategist Arne Meyer shared a little insight behind the decision.
"It worked really well for us for The Last of Us," he explained. "We thought that we could put together a really great piece of content [for Uncharted 4] as well. I think that we rose to the challenge for The Last of Us, so we decided that we're going to take another shot at it [for Uncharted 4]." You'll be able to get the content as part of the Uncharted 4 Triple Pack, which will also include new multiplayer goodies.
There's no word on what the add-on will comprise, but we're secretly hoping that it stars a different character – perhaps Sully or Elena. We're sure that all will be revealed in due time – presumably after the release of the core campaign on 18th March. What direction would you like to see this expansion adopt? Well if it's a DLC like left behind I'm ok with that because it wasn't cut from the main game but instead nearly a new story but just in the same universe and this idea i agree with completely and won't feel the way ACTIVISION makes me feel with its DlCs
So the game isn't out till 18th March. Add it to the disc and include it with the game. Naughty Dog has more than enough time to do so rather than informing pre-order customers that they have to buy more DLC to receive things that at this stage of production should be clumped together and given with the base game. DLC should only be announce after a game is released and the gamers need more of said game not announced months b4 the game is even released. This stinks to high heaven and disgusts me about the gaming industry these days. Im not anti DLC, but I am anti ripping off the customer.
TLOU DLC should have been free IMO it wasn't all that great.
It better be a good piece of DLC. I may a huge ND mark, but if there's a chance they'll get involved with some of the more stupid practices of the industry, I'll be skeptical about it. Just because they're ND doesn't mean they should get a free pass should they get scummy in the future.
What I'd like to see - for the damn thing to be free with game.
Talk about profiteering. Does Naughty Dog think we're imbeciles that can be befuddled by all this BS 'worked so well in Last of Us, Rise to the challenge' malarkey?
Nuff said.
Good God, the entitlement among some of you. Naughty Dog won't have even started making it yet because believe it or not there finishing Uncharted 4 ( I know crazy) these things get put into the planning stages early because employers need to be assigned work. And yes we may not like it but they advertise DLC before the game comes out because there trying to convince people to keep the game after completing it, every publisher does it.
@TomKongPhooey Exactly. If the game was already out, that's one thing, but the game is LITERALLY half a year away...
@adf86 They should plan all they want, but mentioning DLC for a game SIX (6) MONTHS AWAY A.K.A. HALF A YEAR AWAY is just sad. If you call being saddened by the fact that a great company is talking about gouging their consumers with DLC when the game is so far away entitlement, then you don't really know what entitlement means. If anything, Naughty Dog are the ones who feel they have entitlement. When Activision, EA, Ubisoft, SE, etc. advertise DLC with a product coming out less than six months away, they get chastised for it. But since it is Naughty Dog, they think it's okay, and you're okay with it? I'm not saying any of them are right (Naughty Dog being just as wrong as the rest) and, day one or not, you do have to admit that this business practices is BS.
@adf86 I'm just hoping it's something that's not taken out of the game, and something that doesn't split the story if I don't have it. I don't care if I have to pay for it. I have no problem with that. If what you're saying is right, then I shouldn't have any worries now.
It's the same thing with Destiny but still a ton of people me included bought both Expansion Pack 1 and 2. DLCs are just where the profit's at for developers.
@Neolit - weird that you would warn us not to ready on, when you're givin' away nothing at all... I could have never played the Last of us, and your pretentious, Leno-ish comment would have ruined ZERO percent... (get that? I stole your "funny") and how can you know if it's any good (or bad) if you refuse to play it. Furtermore, I don't see how your experience with the Last of us relates to uncharted at all...
1 - 'Left Behind' was a great piece of DLC.
2 - I don't understand why this has even been announced
