Bethesda's gone ahead and opened up the vault to Fallout 4's post-launch plans, and they're probably just as you'd expect. Let's start with the good stuff: the developer promises numerous, free updates for the post-apocalyptic adventure. It says that these patches will not only fix potential issues, but they'll also add new content to the game, much like the gameplay additions that came to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
A little more sigh-worthy is the fact that there's going to be a season pass for the release. Again, it's expected in this day and age, but it's worth remembering that we haven't heard a thing about downloadable content yet. Ah, this lovely industry of ours.
Lastly, the studio reiterates that mods will come to consoles at some point. It doesn't share any details on how this is all going to work on PlayStation 4, but you can probably guess that we'll hear more about mods closer to the game's launch.

Yeah we're gonna need all of those updates when the game releases in a completely broken state. AM I RIGHT GUYS?
chooo chooo here comes the money train LOL
Announcing a season pass before any DLC has been detailed. They just know suckers will lap it up anyway
I don't even care I'll buy anything Fallout related.
Hmmm, wonder if this means we won't be seeing a GOTY edition like we did with the last gen Fallouts. Hope not, as my plan was to wait for that to come out!
They might be announcing a season pass before detailing DLC, but who cares? It's not like they aren't going to follow the formula. Their DLC expansions are almost always awesome, meaty affairs, and people like myself are guaranteed to buy all of them one way or the other.
@stevie85 same here mate brought all the last fallout and elder scrolls dlc individually so this is much better. Looking forward to seeing how these mods are gonna work, are we gonna get a construction kit like on pc or are just gonna be able to download ones that have been built on pc? So many questions!
I have a habit of being suckered in to buying season passes when I buy RPGs, so I'll probably end of getting it when I pick up my copy in November. I know it'll be worth the investment, so no biggie.
I never buy a season pass until I know what my money will be getting me but, in regards to Fallout dlc, sign me up/take my money/have a kidney hahaha. In Bethesda I trust!!!
@sham8nix We can only download the mods already approved by Sony, Microsoft and Bethesda.
There is no way in a million years Sony or Microsoft would allow us console gamers to mod our games via modding tools found in games like Fallout and The Elder Scrolls. It would be like opening a can of worms.
I'm still pleased we're getting mods on PS4.

One of the few companies I'd give money for a season pass, because I know it would be well worth it.
I'm sure the sp is only $30/£20 and you get everything. So altogether £60 for the full hit - I can live with that.
lol ditto on the sentiment that Bethesda content is worth pre-ordering, since the wait and value are usually reasonable. Finally, a season pass I can feel good about buying. They're saving this whole year, imho (along with MGS5 and Battlefront)
@ShogunRok and we are STILL going to be completely enveloped into if for hours, completely entertained !
I guess my collectors edition won't include a season pass, take all my money anyway.
I can't wait. It's going to be awesome!
I love Fallout games! Sadly, they could take a dump in a box and call it Fallout 4 and I'd still buy it. And the season pass. #Don'tYouJudgeMe!
Fallout games have had some of the best DLC to date historically, a season pass is expected.
