Uncharted The Nathan Drake Collection PS4 PlayStation 4

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection sounds like a remaster done right. Re-releases like God of War III Remastered have launched a little light on features, but developer Bluepoint is really re-working Naughty Dog's popular PlayStation 3 trilogy, rebalancing the gameplay, while also incorporating visual and audio improvements across the board. But that's not all.

In addition to new Trophies and the now mandatory Photo Mode, all three titles will ship with a batch of new difficulties. Brutal Difficulty is the hardest setting, and will be unlocked once you've completed Crushing in each game. However, if you're not a glutton for punishment, there'll also be an Explorer Mode, which will allow you to soak up the story without sweating too much.

The most interesting addition, however, is Speed Run Mode, which will time your efforts against friends. It seems like you'll be able to compare your progress in realtime, seeing who worked their way through certain combat sections quicker and more. With decent leaderboards, this could potentially add hours of replayability to each individual title.

Last but not least, you'll be able to play the entire game as one of 65 different skins, so if you want to start out with Doughnut Drake or someone similar, that's an option, too. We reckon that this all sounds richly promising, as remasters do need a reason for existing players to return as well. You should watch the new trailer if you haven't already by the way.
