Thank heavens for the Germans

It's the calm before the storm otherwise known as Gamescom 2015, although Sony's press conference absence has left us pondering just how busy we're going to be over the coming days. With the likes of Mafia III and Horizon: Zero Dawn all lined up, though, we're sure that it's going to be a good one – even if it does feel like the curtain literally just closed on E3 2015. In the meantime, video games.

I don't know about Life Is Strange, it's been a case of Life Is Unbearable of late. I've been sitting on the fourth episode in DONTNOD's episodic adventure all week now, and avoiding spoilers ain't been easy. This weekend, though, I will finally experience the next part of the story.

This weekend I'll be braving the dark tunnels of Metro Redux on the PS4. I'm not usually into potentially scary stuff, but the post-apocalyptic Fallout 4 bug has bitten me hard.

I'll be heading back to the bleak world of Dying Light this weekend to cave in some undead heads and see what goodies have been offered by Techland.*

* Only during daylight hours and with a fresh supply of Disney movies to remind me that the world isn't full of zombies. Also, only if freshly laundered underwear is in good supply. Better do the washing first...

If you'd told me back in January I'd be enjoying Life is Strange much more than any of the other episodic games coming out, I'd have thought you were out of your mind. After already getting kicked right in the feels by the opening to Episode 4, this weekend I'm looking forward to polishing off the rest of the episode. I get the feeling it's going to get emotional.

While I was being having a grand ol' time playing through Life is Strange, I was neglecting Rocket League. It's definitely going to be time to change that. I also think I'll take a little time to try out the NHL 16 EASHL beta, as this is being done in lieu of the traditional demo, so I have to play it during the times that it's active.

After reading Push Square's The Best Games on PS4 - 2015 Edition feature, I feel inspired to revisit Velocity 2X on my PlayStation Vita. Then again, I don't need much incentive to teleport my way back to such a frantic and rewarding highlight of 2014's gaming year.

I'll be getting back into the card battling epicness of Yu-Gi-Oh! thanks to the Legacy of the Duelist releasing on the PS4 this weekend. Oh, and many, many matches of Rocket League.

This weekend I'll be playing N++, because it is the platformer. I love me some level creating, so I'll be testing out my artistic ability in the editor.

This weekend I will be taking a break from all of those extremely violent games and instead I'll be travelling to Cloud Cuckoo Land in The Lego Movie Videogame. This should be a relaxing title!

I won't have a lot of time this weekend to play, but if and when I do, I'll be playing N++ or Rocket League. The former has totally won me over with its slick gameplay and plethora of challenging levels. The latter is Rocket League.

Alright, that's quite enough from us, which means that it's your turn. What are you playing this weekend? Make your voice heard in the comments section below.
