Ice hockey's a sport that's not particularly, er, popular here in the UK, but we know that our commonwealth cohorts are big fans of the ice-based action. Sony's probably pretty smart announcing a PlayStation 4 bundle for the forthcoming NHL 16, then, which will skate its way into Canadian stores from 15th September for $449.99.
The pack will include a copy of EA Sports' latest simulation – minus Patrick Kane on the cover – as well as a 500GB new-gen console. Judging by the promotional shot, it's the revised PS4 model, which is a little lighter and less power hungry than its predecessor. Do you think that this set is hot stuff, or has it left you feeling cold? Stay on your feet in the comments section below.

EA must do better than NHL 2015.
Can we do away with this 500 GB stuff? They should all come with at least a 1000 out of the box by now.
500 GB's is nothing this gen.
My biggest pet peeve is when people refer to hockey as 'ice hockey'. Hockey is played on ice, specifying so is redundant. It only needs a precursor if you're playing some wacky variant, like field, floor, or air hockey. And now you know.
Also, I'm pretty much done with EA hockey games... stripping out features from '15 so they can 'wow' us when they get added back into '16 is beyond lame... although not unexpected from EA. I wish somebody, ANYBODY, else would make a hockey game. Doesn't need to be a hardcore sim or anything. a wacky 3 on 3 arcade game for Vita would be great. something like Hit The Ice, or the NHL Hitz series... just not made by EA. If they guys who made Super Mega Baseball wanted to try their hand at a hockey game in that style, i'd be all over it...
I'm Canadian and I disapprove. Jk. I'm in the minority not liking hockey here haha
@daveh30 there are two kinds of hockey. Ball hockey and ice hockey. India's national sport is hockey, which refers to the non ice kind, preformed on pavement. Where I live, most people only know what ice hockey is, so only refer to it as hockey.
@daveh30
The term "hockey" is used to describe ice hockey primarily in Canada, the United States, Norway and Sweden where ice hockey is more popular.
The term "hockey" is used to describe field hockey primarily In the majority of the rest of the world where field hockey is more popular.
So yes it does need specifying as its an international site.
Only sports games I ever liked were NBA Jam (Genesis), Mutant League Football (platform unknown to me), NHL 06 (PS2), Tiger Woods 2010, Wii Sports Resort and Mario Tennis (Wii), and Mario Golf World Tour (3DS).
I had a lot of fun with NHL 06, but it's been years since I've played a hockey video game. I don't even play hockey (or golf) but I always love hockey and golf video games.
I want a vita version for gods sake please make it so EA!
I might buy 2016, not sure yet.. I've got 2015 on EA Access and its good fun but is lacking some key things.
Hockey in the UK does have a following, just not in all parts. There should be an EIHL team from London next year, but the majority of teams are based midlands and further north. Sheffields boxing day game against Nottingham had around 8,000 fans, and the likes of Braehead, Cardiff, Sheffield, Nottingham and Belfast see weekly crowds of around 4,000 or so. With two British teams in the CHL this season I can only hope that the profile continues to improve because it really is a fantastic sport and infinitely better than football imo!
I would have gotten this if I didn't already have a ps4 I do plan to buy the game, though. Unlike alot of ppl, I enjoyed NHL 15 on ps4, but that might be because i got it for $10 new instead of at launch for $70 new lol
@get2sammyb UK well never embrace hockey, just like we will never embrace soccer/football lol
Haha! Nice satire of the most famous used profanity.
I crack myself up with that article. XD
