Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection PS4 PlayStation 4

You'll be able to steal a few precious minutes with Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection later this summer, as the PlayStation Blog has revealed that a demo for the forthcoming PlayStation 4 compilation is in the works. It's unclear which entry from the adventuring series' PlayStation 3 trilogy will be included in the sampler, but port house BluePoint has been showing press the infamous helicopter chase sequence from Uncharted 2: Among Thieves this week.

According to the aforementioned publication, the developer is "upgrading character models, environment textures, lighting, and special effects across the board, bringing all three games as close to visual modernity as possible while ensuring that they remain true to their original creative direction". Perhaps most interestingly, though, the studio's also tweaking various gameplay mechanics – presumably so that Uncharted: Drake's Fortune doesn't feel so desperately dated.

It may be yet another re-release, but the Uncharted franchise was consistently one of the best on the PS3, so we're actually looking forward to stepping into Drake's shoes all over again. Will you be coveting this collection like buried treasure? X marks the spot in the comments section below.
