Ultra Street Fighter IV PS4 Patch

Ultra Street Fighter IV is finally running as intended on the PlayStation 4, with a brand new patch cleaning up the release's remaining clangers. This update fixes a variety of visual issues, incorporating antialiasing and anisotropic filtering across the board to improve the graphics. It also increases the resolution of the game's effects to put it on par with the PC version.

Other tweaks include audio balance fixes, font changes, improved save performance, and a tweak so that it says 'Press Options' at the beginning of the game rather than 'Press Start'. Writing on the PlayStation Blog, Third-Party Productions chief Gio Corsi noted that the latter wasn't actually a bug. "It was originally left in intentionally as a tribute to Street Fighter IV's arcade roots," he explained.

The poor state of the original port meant that it was pulled from EVO and Capcom's Pro Tour, but it's getting very close to a point where it can be used at tournaments again. Considering how quickly these updates have been rolled out, though, one can't help but wonder why Sony didn't just delay the game in the first place in order to avoid all of the negative press.
