Chugga-chugga

Nothing stops the WAYP train – even though this editor's forgetfulness threatens to derail things pretty much every week. Fortunately, we've managed to string up enough scribes to fuel this feature's steam engine right at the last minute, so our flawless record continues for yet another week. Choo-choo!

It's the most wonderful time of the year where there's not a lot launching. Unfortunately, without any reviews to focus my attention, I'll be spending my entire weekend pondering what to play. And as is often the case, by the time that I've decided on Sunday evening, I'll probably have to get ready for work again.

I'm back in my hometown, where I was foolish enough to not bring my PS4. Luckily though, there is a PS3 here. I'm scratching off my backlog, which leads me to... Oh my, Dark Souls II.

This weekend, I'll be cheating on my PS4 as I go full MOBA in the SMITE open beta on Xbox One. Despite the rampant capitalisation of its title, I'm actually enjoying laning some creeps, before popping my ult for a pentakill. Oh God! Kill me now!

I've enjoyed completing the last few hours of Batman: Arkham City, after rebooting an old save game from November 2011. My Batman: Arkham Knight progress is 181 per cent, and I find Knightmare setting on New Story + an accessible difficulty curve, so the comparison has cemented Arkham Knight as my favourite game in the series. Arkham City looks grittier, but it's grubbier and more claustrophobic too, plus Arkham Knight's grapple and glide traversal is noticeably more fluid and responsive.

After my nephew and I decided to pick up the Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, a lot of our time has been devoted to that. I just completed Borderlands 2 with him (and it was his first experience of it), so now we're focusing the weekend on tackling True Vault Hunter mode. It's still as amazing for me to replay it now as it was to first experience it back in 2012.

I'll be playing LEGO Jurassic World with my friend over Share Play this week, which I honestly forgot existed. Playing through it, we've already shared a fair amount of jokes involving sausages. [I'm not going to ask – Ed]

With Rocket League stealing much of my gaming attention recently, I figure I'd better give it a break. I'll try and finish Batman: Arkham Knight then charge into Tembo the Badass Elephant. It may be getting mixed reviews, but I love me a good old stylish platformer.

All aboard the WAYP train, then. Entry is free, as long as you tell us what will be keeping you busy this weekend in the comments section below.
