Gamescom 2015 is looking to be a big event for Square Enix. The Japanese publisher is bringing all of its heavy hitting, upcoming releases to the German expo, including the still elusive Final Fantasy XV. Noctis and the gang will apparently be on show during several 'exciting stage presentations', and there'll even be special guests.
It's worth mentioning, however, that the company won't be putting on a press conference. Instead, attendees will be able to go hands-on with titles like Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below, and Just Cause 3. Meanwhile, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and Hitman will be getting live theatre demonstrations, so at the very least, we can expect some gameplay to spill out of the event.
Square Enix is also promising 'new announcements and reveals' for the aforementioned Final Fantasy XV, which means that we'll most certainly be getting more juicy information on the highly anticipated role-playing game. That was the biggest mood dropper for kingdom hearts. Haha.
It would be great to see FFXV get a release date. I mean, obviously you'd have to add another 6-12 months on top of any given date to account for the inevitable delays, but at least we'd have an idea!
On the other hand, Episode Duscae and the refinements off the back of that were all targeted at improving the core gameplay elements. It's entirely possible (although unlikely) that the other key elements of the game (story, locations, cutscenes etc) are already much further down the line, and that was the last thing they had left to lock down.
Ah who am I kidding, we'll be lucky to get a 2016 release date!
@BLPs what sub-series? The only sub-series FFXV is part of is Fabula Nova Crystallis as far as I'm aware, which isn't exactly new as it already has 5 games.
FF15 has just gotta release 2016.
They don't wanna miss that 20 year anniversary for the FF7 remake so better get 15 out the door asap!

Seriously though I cant wait for it, duscae was good.
Option to control every member of the party, new and more variated characters (at least 2 or 3 more to match with Final Fantasy standards at least). That said Duscae was great, and I can't wait to play the real game.
Oh and by the way maybe we should get Final Fantasy XIII trilogy ported to PS4 as a single great game.
I would like to see more of FFXV. I'm not expecting a release date, but it would be nice, heck a release window, even!
Aside from that, I would like to see more characters. Maybe Cor, or some others we haven't seen yet.
Type 0's battle system is pretty great. It would have been nice if they'd released FF15 with an upgraded version of it. Instead, only being able to have control over 1 character does seem like a bit of a downgrade. I don't necessarily mind there only being 4 main characters though, provided they all have interesting story lines..
Plus they are kind limited to the number of people they can fit in a car, so there is that. You'd have needed a mini bus for FF7's crew.
I hope we get a release date even if it was just ''holiday 2016'', after all this time waiting just a release date window will do
also more info on Kingdom Hearts 3 would be nice
