It's far from the biggest PlayStation 4 game released thus far, but we can sense Snake grimacing at Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain's beefy 25GB PlayStation 4 install from here. While the eye-patched icon won't need to smoke an entire packet of Marlborough's as the data is transferred to Sony's new-gen system, you may want to consider upgrading your hard drive if you haven't already.
The information comes courtesy of the game's Japanese PlayStation Store page, meaning that the figure may vary slightly in Europe and North America. DualShockers reports that the PlayStation 3 version will eat up around 11.7GB. We're getting agonisingly close to the sequel's 1st September release date now, and in order to celebrate, creator Hideo Kojima's released this rather gory promotion poster. Gross, huh?

Yeah I need to upgrade my hard drive. I only have 23 gb left on the stock drive. Any one recommend a good drive?
Nice one Kojima, canny wait!
@Timvp2120 I should upgrade mine too really, but I'm getting by uninstalling games I havn't played in a while. Can keep it around 100gb free that way. It's great that games install so quickly on PS4.
@kyleforrester87 it's a godsend. I'm fairly sure I would die before the PS3 managed to complete the installation on anything in the 50GB region!
That's pretty average. I'm kinda surprised. Maybe I'm just used to heinously huge install sizes (GTAV's 47GB install, I'm looking at you...)
I guess Kojima wants to take some of our drive space on his merry way out.
This isn't too bad in comparison to some other games though.
@Timvp2120
I got this. the drive can be removed and put into the PS4, was easy to do too.... was a tad cheaper before but it does work, plus you can reformat the old drive and still have a 500gb external for other things.

25GB? That's a pleasant surprise actually. I was expecting 40-50GB. That's not bad at all. Also a good thing I have a 1TB internal in my PS4, so I have plenty of room! Hopefully at Paris Games Week, Sony will announce that the next big firmware update will feature External HDD Storage for games, apps and saves.
I have a 1tb that I bought about this time last year. I'm already playing the which games aren't I going to play soon game. So a smaller install like this is welcome!
@Timvp2120 I bought a Seagate Backup Plus Slim 2TB, ripped it open and took the Samsung M9T hdd out of it and put out into my ps4. It's a recommended hdd for the ps4 and it works very well. The best part is that it's the cheapest way to get a Samsung M9T hdd, and instead of the port being soldered on like most portable hdd, it's just a lil connector you disconnect. Also, you can stick the old ps4 hdd in the case and format it to use as a external hdd if you wanted. Watch this video >>

25 gb is actually really nice after the batman arkham knight 52gb
Am I the only person who loves decluttering my drive? Its a weekly pleasure.
25GB is pretty low for a AAA game.
@themcnoisy I try but I need more Cloud storage
Got enough space after deleting off the games I will never get round to playing - mostly PS+.
What is Ellie doing on the cover?
This week my PS4 harddrive was full for the first time, so I checked how much space all my games were taking. Grand Winner: Wolfenstein New Order with 52gb...
