With the announcement of the 1TB PlayStation 4 console that was last week, many have been anticipating the cost of the new hardware, and now, UK retailers have outed that the improved machine's price tag will sit around the £349.99 mark.
Of course, those of you in the know will have quickly realised that that price point is hovering around the same value as the standard PS4 model, which could very well mean that an official price cut is imminent. How low it could go, however, is up for debate. Needless to say, though, if you're looking to buy Sony's latest console on the cheap, then you may want to hang around.
The new PS4 goes on sale next month, on the 15th July, and it's up for pre-order right now - but will you be buying one? Are you hoping for a price cut on the old model? Rant about hard drive space in the comments section below.

You can already get a 500 PS4 for around £300 in a fair few places, not sure if there's a need for an official price cut.
In the netherlands it already got it's price cut, the 1tb version is €400 and the 500gb version is €350-€380 depending on where you buy it.
My sister picked up one in the local Sainsbury's on Saturday for £299 with Arkham KNight and a Batman animated film on Bluray. So I'd feel sorry for anyone paying £350 for the machine on it's own.
Does anyone know if the 1TB version is going to have a solid state drive or not ??
You can get the 500GB model for £280 if you look around and the 1TB for £289.97 https://www.gamestop.co.uk/PlayStation%204/Games/52115
@chris730920 A 1TB SSD would cost a silly amount of money so no it has a normal 5200rpm (I think) HDD.
This is soooooooo confusing(very SONY sometimes) Why make the New 1TB with old hardware in it for? I might of picked up another PS4(the 1TB one) if it had the New hardware the New 500GB has(i.e lower power usage etc etc) Hmm + the prices are all wrong to. Oh well.
so they are bringing out a 1tb model that is the same as the current model but with a bigger hard drive and they are bringing out a new 500gb model with redesigned internals %8 less power consumption %10 lighter and mechanical buttons at the front and it has a all matt finish. might as well just wait for the new 500gb model and upgrade the hd to a 2tb one
@Jazzer94 Actually it's 5400 RPM, but yeah no SSD in it.
I'll still be waiting for a slim re-release in Fall 2016 myself.
