Off the rails

All aboard, all aboard – the WAYP train is about to leave the station. We've a carriage full of Push Square staffers all gagging to share their weekend gaming plans – and we've brought a few new faces along for the ride. Of course, this isn't a one-way trip – don't forget to drop your gaming agenda in the comments section below.

I've got to admit, after the first few hours of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, I wasn't sure if it was my goblet of hard liquor. However, I'm really getting into the game now, and can't wait to spend my weekend riding Roach around Velen's war-ravaged plains.

In a shocking twist, this weekend's not really going to be about video games for me. Saturday night plays host to the Champions League final, and I'm supposed to be gallivanting around the countryside on Sunday. It's a busy two days of – gasp – real life, then, but I'm sure that I'll still find a way to cram some The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in.

After a wildly unsuccessful attempt at scrounging together enough coin to buy The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, I have decided that I might attempt to actually finish The Order: 1886. To that end, my weekend will be filled to the brim with quick-time events and sour disappointment.

Having happily resigned myself to playing The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for the rest of my life, I've decided I need to throw other games into the mix when I could do with a break from so much dark fantasy. This weekend, that game is Splatoon. Surprisingly, I've found myself hooked on this shooter that – despite a lack of content – has managed to keep me chucking my ink all over the floor in its hugely fun multiplayer skirmishes. Now, where did I put my paint roller?

Help! I simply can't play anything but The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Whether it's enjoying the blisteringly good vistas or beating a Griffin to a pulp, I can't get enough. Maybe I'll see sunlight again one day.

I recently returned to the original Rayman on PSone, so I figured that I'd play Rayman Origins and Rayman Legends in sequence next, as my own little celebration of side-scrolling Rayman games. Considering the success of Rayman 2: The Great Escape – during a time that was fixated with 3D game worlds – it was unexpected of Ubisoft a decade later to re-establish the series as a benchmark of 2D platform game design.

My love for Freedom Wars has been rekindled. I was lucky enough to get my first Rank 8 late bloomer L-6E1 spear, so I'll be slowly building it into the finest abductor slaying spear in the Chicago Panopticon. For the greater good!

This weekend I am looking to finally finish Bloodborne (before probably diving back in for NG+), and for lighter relief I am finding Peggle 2 to be very, very slick and addictive – not to mention satisfying when beating family members in head-to-head battles.

This weekend I'll be dipping my toes into Destiny's PvP in a last ditch effort to get my Iron Banner to Rank 3. Outside of that I hope to find time to play one of the many unfinished games in my backlog: Far Cry 4, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. So many games, so little time...

I just beat Grand Theft Auto V for the second time, so there's some temptation to jump back into GTA Online, but I'm not entirely sure. Part of me really wants to buy Octodad: Dadliest Catch for some reason.

This weekend I'll finally be playing The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, as I've decided to give in against my fantasy RPG-hating instincts. I'll also be playing a bit of Mirror's Edge in order to gear up for E3 2015 and prepare myself for the inevitable disappointment of its sequel.

Is that the longest WAYP in history? It may well be up there. Now we just need you to make the comments section blisteringly big, and we could smash two records in one article. Let's do this!
