The problem with No Man's Sky is that despite its grand premise, we're still yet to get a proper look at the title in action. Press conference demonstrations are typically over in the blink of an eye, while Hello Games has been quite shy when it comes to releasing full video demonstrations to the press. Fortunately, one YouTube channel has got its hands on a good four or five minutes of raw footage.
In the video, we get a glimpse at some of the title's space combat, as well as some more general exploration. The sound design is particularly impressive, with many of the creatures that you'll encounter making unique noises, while the music when you're flying through space has some mad Mass Effect vibes. And if you're still wondering what you actually do in the game – well, click through here.

They told us a year ago what you do in the game, what they haven't told us yet is a release date.
With all the press coverage Sony has given this game over at least the past year they could have given the guy a few bucks to hire a few more people to finish the game.
@Neolit we need a star trek game
This is taking a long time, I was really interested when it first announced, but there are other space games coming now and if this releases around the same time, I might just get those instead. They still haven't really shown us that much either so I do wonder how the game will continue to keep people engaged and interested.
@BLPs - "Still...it looks good?"
It looks very zen, and I've been in search of zen of late. I was actually even looking forward to my first go at an Animal Crossing game, but I don't play board games unless they are on actual boards.
This also looks like Starfox Adventures 2, which I want way more than Starfox Zero. Maybe Starfox Zero will get an underwater level like in SW:TPM? If the airwing can survive space and turning into a chicken surely it can submerge? And Wii U needs Endless Ocean 3. Did you know endless Ocean 2 on Wii had 2 player online voice chat. Imagine that.
i will play this someday, maybe old and gray sitting in a rocking chair.
"some mad mass effect vibes" I like it.
Just seen on Highdefdigest under the release dates for games that they say No Mans Sky is out on 17th November 2015 can anyone confirm this ??? Or is this just speculation ???
Mmmm yummy
This game looks great for how "far reaching" that their taking it, and I can definitely get behind a developer with that kind of imagination and way of thinking.
Who knows what they'll come up with next if there successful with this game!
I'll probably pick this one up.
And for those of you saying it, Who wouldn't love a kick**s "Star Trek" game.....lol.
Rumour has it that No Man's Sky will be compatible with Project Morpheus. I just hope Sony doesn't delay this so as to have it as a Morpheus launch game. It would be a great fit, but I want No Man's Sky asap
So tired of waiting! Just give us a release date Hello Games
Looking good, cant wait for the journey to the centre of the universe.
@rjejr If you wan't Zen, get yourself on Fez! (Very good chance you have done already)
As far as No Mans Sky goes, it could really go one way or the other couldn't it! On concept alone it has my money, though.
I just want a release date!
If this ever comes out on morpheus can someone please come round and feed me at least once a week maybe move my joints around too and check im still breathing.
I keep reading inflicting info about this game, are we supposed to journey to the centre of the universe or centre of a galaxy? either way doesn't bother me just curious as they are two separate things entirely. To travel to the centre of a galaxy would be big enough but to travel to the centre of the universe would be unimaginably massive.
@baldybill Haha made me laugh, that could apply to a lot of people if this game turns out to be as good as we are all hoping for
