Nah, that'll be fine

German international Mario Götze may have scored the winning goal for his country in the 2014 world cup final, but his luck wasn't so great on the pitch of one gamer's PlayStation 3 copy of FIFA.

Mario Thissen was enraged when Götze missed a 90th minute penalty in his game - so much so that he smashed his DualShock 3 into pieces. Not only that, but the FIFA fan went as far as to message the Bayern Munich midfielder on Facebook, blaming him for the missed virtual penalty.

Amazingly, the German football star actually replied to the angered gamer, apologising for the miss. Better yet, Götze even offered to send Thissen a new controller. How's that for class both on and off the pitch?

Still, despite this being a rather brilliant story, we have to wonder if Götze would have replaced a DualShock 4, had Thissen been playing FIFA on PlayStation 4. Those things are expensive.
